Seventh Day

Next stop, the beautiful town of Nafplion. Cameras in hands, for shooting one of the most romantic cities all over Greece ! We follow a dream trail to discover the medieval old town, the narrow cobblestone alleys end the neoclassical well-preserved mansions with the bougainvillea trees adorning their yards and balconies. We will take the scenic road to the Palamidi Castle, which proudly stands 216 m above sea level. In order to reach it, you have to climb all of its 999 steps carved into the rock. Do not worry, there is also a bus option... Anyway, the view from above is totally rewarding! The most photographed spot of Nafplio is Bourtzi, the Venetian small fortress standing on the rocky islet of Agioi Theodoroi.
Departure for Aegina island !
We will take the boat from the port of Piraeus. After arrival on the island, we explore the old center. In the aftrenoon, we will go to the beach for admiring the sun disappearing deep into the sea. According to the myth, its name derives from a nymph, daughter of the river god Asopos, whom Zeus fell in love with and took with him to the island! In the evening we will gather for our dinner in a traditional restaurant, where we can try fresh local sea food !
Even though the island is small, it boasts a great number of sights and natural beauties to shoot, highlight of which is the famous Aphea Temple. It forms in fact an equilateral triangle with the Parthenon and the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion, the so-called “holy triangle” of the antiquity. You will be among the lucky ones to complete all 3 corners of that holy triangle !
On the outskirts, we will find little charming villages, where we will stop for shooting rural images ! Next photo stop, the impressive Monastery of Agios Nektarios, one of the largest in the Balkans. On the opposite hill, we will visit Palea Hora, a byzantine site, that once had 365 churches ! 28 out of them, with exceptional wall paintings, are waiting for us to immortalize them by our cameras ! Your tripod will be your best friend inside the medieval churches with their frescoes, byzantine icons and old candles.

Anafiotika is the cluster of small houses built on the slopes of the Acropolis above Plaka neighborhood. It's like being on a Greek Island in the center of the capital! Be prepared for unique photo shoots, if you like hanging out watching people, many cats, and old stone houses.  Whether you like hanging out shopping, eating, or wandering around, Plaka is a great area to be in or near.
